Graphic Novel Month at the Libraries

Join us for Graphic Novels Month at Matamata-Piako Libraries. This month, we will be ushering our awesome collection of graphic novels into the spotlight, with costumes, character creation and more.

Throughout the month, we will be supplying templates for our Create a Character activity, with supplies such as felts and paper provided in-library for those wanting to create their own comic, manga, or other style of graphic novel character.

Our Cosplay Day will take place on Friday 18 August - all library staff (and customers) will have a chance to show off their costume creations. You will have the option of bragging rights on our social media page if you show us your costume.

Finally, for those aged 13 - 18, we will be hosting fun, outside normal hours, Teen Nights! These will run from 6:30 - 8:30pm at each library, with an entry fee of $5 which will pay for your pizza!

• Matamata Library: Saturday 26 August – Join us for pizza, escape room and giant games.

• Morrinsville Library: Saturday 19 August – Join us for pizza, fabric painting and giant games.  Bring your own t-shirts or other fabric item to paint on.

• Te Aroha Library: Saturday 12 August – Join us for pizza and a movie.
