Join us at Matamata Library as we celebrate World Bee Day on Friday 30 May.
We have two exciting activities on offer - a Special Edition bee-themed Toddler Time for the little ones, and a Lunchtime Lecture (with bread and honey!) for the not-so-little ones. Local bee-enthusiast, James Sainsbury, will be delivering these sessions.
Our Toddler Time session will be at the regular time of 10.30am at Matamata Library and will include a storytime plus an observational hive and some age-appropriate grafting activities. In the afternoon, James will deliver a lecture from 12.15-1pm titled "A History of Beekeeping in New Zealand, also at Matamata Library.
There is no need to sign up, simply show up on the day.
Please be aware that there will be an observational hive present. While we don't expect any bees to be flying around, if you or your children are allergic to bees, we ask that you take the necessary precautions.
