Place an Item on Hold

You can place holds (reserves) on items in the Catalogue or via our Library App.  When the item is available it will be transferred to the library of your choice at no charge.

Please keep us informed if you change your mind about your hold or have any difficulties with collecting.  If you do not collect your hold from the library, there is a non-collection fee of $2.00 added to your library account.

 

To place a hold via the Catalogue:

  • Find the item in our catalogue.
  • Click on the blue "Place Hold" button to the right of the title.
  • You will be prompted to enter your library card number (Full Barcode) and Password (PIN).
  • A "Place Holds" pop up box will appear; check the pickup library is correct, then click on the "Place Hold(s)" button.
  • You will be advised if your action has been successful - click OK.
  • You can monitor your Holds under the Holds tab of your account.

 

To place a hold via the Libraries App:

  • Go to the Matamata-Piako Libraries App
  • Search for the item (using the top search bar)
  • Select the item
  • Tap the ‘place reservation’ button
  • Select the correct pickup library
  • Tap the ‘Place Reservation’ button.
  • You will be advised if your action has been successful - click OK.

 

You can also phone any of our libraries to speak to a librarian about placing a hold on a book.

You can suspend holds if you want to stay in the queue but don't want the book straight away or are going on holiday. You can also change your pick up location or cancel the hold at any time through Your Account or via the Matamata-Piako Libaries App.
