Place an item on hold

If you're after a particular book but it's always out on loan, it's only available at one of the other libraries, or you just can't make it to the library today, you can place it on hold.

This ensures that you get to take the item out next. If the item is already on loan, you will be added to the list of people who are waiting. If more than one person has requested an item, new requests are added to the end of a queue.

Reserving an item is free. Note that if you place an item on hold but change your mind and do not collect it from the library, there will be a non-collection fee of $2.00 added to your library account. You may cancel a hold free of charge if the hold has not yet been processed.

To place a book on hold simply find the book in our Libraries Catalogue, and click the 'Place Hold' link. You will need to log in with your library card number and password to place the hold.
You can also phone any of our libraries to speak to a librarian about placing a hold on a book.
